Welcome
Greetings, and welcome to your class website!
This website is a communication tool used to keep parents and students informed of upcoming assignments, assessments and other notices related to the classroom. Students are responsible for notifying their teachers of expected absences and proactively making up for missed assignments. Being absent, even if it is legitimately excused, from a class does not excuse you from the assignments, tests, or learning opportunities of that day. If you are away, please check your class page to stay up to date. You can also use it as a tool to review concepts for projects and tests. Wishing you all the best this semester, Ms. Oleksewich |

How will you push yourself to be the best "you" this year? Who do you rely on for support and encouragement? How often do you offer support?

Cell Phone Policy
When you are constantly on your phone, you are missing valuable information your peers may be sharing. You are removing yourself from the discussion and learning experience. Use of phones during class lectures and discussion is unacceptable. The best way to manage your temptation and "need" to check social media and play games is to remove the temptation altogether.
Therefore, phones will be kept in two locations: in your locker or in the cell-phone charging station (silent please and no, your pocket is not acceptable).
If you cannot practice effective self-management (using phone at inappropriate times/without permission, or need several reminders to put it away or turn it off) I will confiscate for the class and remove the temptation all together. If this needs repeating, it will result in a referral to the administration and parent notification.
See videos below for demonstration on the importance to "unplug"
